I have played in a number of MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer On-Line Role-Playing Games). I stopped playing Asheron's Call where my main character was a 38th level Blademaster. I also had a 21st level Warrior and a 14th level Battlemage. I had been playing AC for 18 months. I also used to play in Ultima Online where I had a Grandmaster Warrior and an Adept Blacksmith, amongst others, but like AC after 18 months I guess I just got tired of it. I then played in Dark Age of Camelot which I recently stopped playing after 2 and a half years my main characters being a level 50 Friar and a level 30 Paladin..
I also used to enjoy playing PBMs (Play By Mail Games), that's snail mail. The main one, which I played for over 10 years was called Monster Island which involves controlling one or more monsters on a massive island with magic, fighting, exploring etc... My Monsters were called Keriss and Cindy and were both members of the Island Rangers. I have also played Quest, Crasimoff's World Quest, Beyond the Stellar Empire and Warlord.
One of these days I intend to get my Playstation and N64 out and finally get around to finishing Final Fantasy VIII and Zelda. Though I did recently get a birthday present of a PS2 with GTA San Andreas.... which was nice.
Martial Arts. I like many things oriental but particularly martial arts and I have been practicing Ju-Jitsu at Queens for some 9 years now. I got my black belt in May 2000 and a broken nose and dislocated jaw too. More info can be found at the Queens Jiu-Jitsu club web page.
Roleplaying. I'm an avid RPGer - mainly playing AD&D which I have both played and DMed for many years. Other RPGs I have played include Tales of the Floating Vagabond, Palladium, Rolemaster, MERP, and (very briefly) Megatraveller. My group was split up several years ago to go to different universities and we've never managed to get back together - In fact I don't even know where most of them are!
While at Uni I had, unfortunateIy, had a few part-time jobs. I left Tescos on the Lisburn Road in August '99, where I had worked for 2 years, to concentrate on my Masters Degree. I also used to work as a barman at Laverys Bar Bradbury Place for a couple of years but I left in October '98.
I'm now working as a programmer (or more appropriately Code Monkey) at Northbrook Technology in Belfast where I've been since December 2000.
