Tracy "Velvet" Dempsey
I'll let Velvet speak for herself :
"Went to Queen's after Loreto and did a degree in Industrial Management. (Figured that since it was an engineering course, there'd be 20 men and hopefully just the 1 woman, but ended up in a class of 2 blokes and 7 birds. Oops.) Went about the whole university experience in quite a leisurely fashion, and left 4 years later to work for a Belfast IT firm with a U.S. parent company.
The Belfast IT firm is Northbrook of course where Char, Star, Pengu, Buddah and myself are now working. But of course now that we're in a professional working environent I no longer get any embarassing photos of Velvet........ honest. ;)
Hobbies
"...are for people who actually enjoy their job, and don't come home
to the bosom of a sofa that understands when no-one else will.   Why would
you leave it?"

- Music: Currently listening to Jesus & Mary Chain best of, and Echo & the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain. For getting pished with weemin in the house, Wham! and Bananarama... Otherwise Spacehog, The Smiths, Mazzy Star, Pixies, Jeff Buckley. For going out, most disco/funk/soul (BT1 new favourite spot, despite the unisex toilets - LIFT THE SEATS, BOYS!).
- Food: Still spuds and pasta, but have discovered passion for risotto now too. With chicken/scallops/parmesan/roasted peppers...
- Drink: Baby Guinnesses now banned cos they exacerbate an already-painful hangover. Now rioja/shiraz at home/in a restaurant, or vod & tonic in the bar. But not together - that leads to mess. Believe me.
- TV: Property Ladder, Relocation x 3, Grand Designs.. and I'm still a renter. Malcolm in the Middle, Simpsons. There's Something about Miriam was highly entertaining..
- Films: Shawshank Redemption, Murder in the First, Back to the Future (1-point-21 gigawatts!), Hitchcock, most films I've seen now thanks to film class in Queen's ILL - Le Trou, Oxbow Incident, Rashomon, and others too many to mention.
- Going Out: Don't do it very often any more, due to a) trying to clear ridiculous debt from previous hedonistic ways, and b) going out with a homebody obsessed with movies (and no, not of the mucky variety). When I do, I like BT1 with the girls for a boogie, otherwise a decent pub where you can hear each other chat, e.g. the Errigal. I'm turning into a bit of a sad old git, really..

What would Velvet do if she won the lottery ?
"The possibilities are ENDLESS. And the bar would be too..."

I`d remember if I'd done that.. (?) "
